ACE Menu Engine [RMXP]

Last Update: July 17, 2013
Script Download

With this script, you can add, remove, and rearrange menu commands as you see fit. In addition to that, you can add in menu commands that lead to common events or even custom commands provided through other scripts.

This script also provides window appearance management such as setting almost all command windows to be center aligned or changing the position of the help window.

Compatibile Scripts

You can now have animated sprite in the menu scene. you can turn it off an on in the module.

Adjust various visual aspects for your windows such as command window alignment, and more. The settings are adjusted within the script’s module.

Add, remove, and rearrange commands in the main menu to your liking. Include even common event or custom commands. Common Events and Custom Commands must be properly adjusted in the module to work. See below:

Common Events and Custom Commands are managed straight from the module and are integrated into the main menu with ease. Here, you can set what display name will show up for the command, whether or not it can be disabled (and if it can be, disabling will work through a Switch), and the Event ID or Handler Method used.

This alters the side windows at the bottom to display variables, time, steps, gold, etc. This window appears at the bottom of the screen.

Script Conflicts and Compatibility
Requires the script ‘Scene_Base‘ v1.5 or higher
Requires the script ‘Scene_MenuBase‘ v1.00 or higher

  2. 9.23.2012 (v1.34)
    # Added Multi Variable window
    # Compatibility with TP System
    # Compatibility with Window_GameCompletion
    # Compatibility with ACE Menu Location Window
    # Improve Coding

  3. Hmmm quite buggy, I can’t even open the Equip Scene, when updating all the new versions of your scripts they don’t work either. The same happens with your new Item Scene…

    • With the demo or the script. Demo is outdated, I shouldn’t even have to state that as people should see the dates don’t match. However I’ll state it anyways for people who can’t read dates.

      • As I said, I updated all the versions of the script and doesn’t seem to work as well…

  4. I downloaded all your scripts and added them to the new project, to test them. And I get a window with the following text:

    can you fix this?

  5. v1.38 (01.22.2013)
    ● Improved Coding
    ● Fixed the placement of the HP, SP, and EXP.
    ● Fixed issue with the custom_commands and events
    ● Fixed compatibility with my other upgraded ACE Menu System scripts

  6. Hm, is the demo link doesn’t work?
Well, I just want to know what size the faceset is for, pasted the script and then asked 001-Fighter’s face.
Or, is there a way to use the sprites instead face?

    • I’m having no trouble with the demo, so something is wrong from your end. Also, facesets are dealt with inside the Warrior Core Engine, not with the ACE Menu Engine. and its 94×94. If you don’t use the Warrior Core Engine or you turn the setting off, you’ll get the character spirits instead.

    • If you’ve looked at the script you would’ve notice that I’ve put an option for that in the module. Read the instructions and the module first before asking for help next time please.

  9. I’m getting an error that says “Script ‘ACE Menu System’ line 388:NoMethodError occurred. undefined method ‘required_script’ for ACE::MESSAGE:Module”

  10. I’m sorry I like this script but every time I exit the menu even in the demo I get this error:
Script’ Scene_Base’ line 116 NoMethodError occurred
undefined method ‘ dispose’ for NilClass. Why? I really don’t know what is causing it.

  11. I would really like to be able to use this script, but can’t since the MenuBase isn’t available. I tried to see if the older version from the demo would work well enough for now, but had syntax errors when testing the custom commands. Is there a projected timeframe for when the MenuBase will be finished?
